Sehar Vedi is an interdisciplinary spatial designer whose practice explores how thoughtful, adaptive environments can foster human connection and cultural resilience. Before pursuing her Master’s at the Royal College of Art, she earned a First-Class Honours degree in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics. It was during this time that her passion for people, material cultures, and the built environment began to take shape.
Sehar was awarded the School of Architecture Citizenship Prize in recognition of her collaborative leadership of the Inside/Out lecture series—an initiative that reflects her commitment to critical dialogue and inclusive design. She brings the same passion and intellectual curiosity to her design work, consistently pushing the boundaries of the industry through a research-led, community-focused approach.
Her independent research project, Elevated, was conceived as a proposal to revitalise 15 Westferry Circus into a vibrant space for local youth—particularly in a borough facing some of the highest levels of income deprivation in the UK. Elevated is designed not only to support learning but to equip young people with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to become economically self-sufficient. By empowering them to launch small businesses and gain real-world experience, the project acts as a Seed Building—an incubator for enterprise and innovation. Ultimately, Elevated stands as a living manifesto for lifelong learning, and a catalyst for social inclusion and cohesion.
