The Fabric of Care

Senia is an interior designer and overseas-qualified architect from India, whose practice is fundamentally centered around people. She’s deeply connected to how people, place, and shared experiences intertwine, fascinated by how user experience and the careful application of materials craft powerful narratives within spaces. Her expertise in spatial design, refined by her global design background and an eye for meticulous detail, provides a distinct lens through which she approaches challenges. Driven by the explicit goal of creating tangible, positive impact on society, she aspires to create designs that deeply resonate with the human experience, regardless of scale.

‘The Fabric of Care’ explores the profound relation between space and the ability to feel emotions when experiencing space. The project puts this inquiry to the test by creating a unique ‘home’ for two often-ignored, yet intrinsically similar, user groups: retired elders and children. By focusing on feelings of care and comfort through the lens of a community kitchen and a daycare, this work seeks to reveal the intimate connection between human experience and the powerful role of materials and conscious design in crafting spaces that are not just functional, but truly personal and resonant for those who inhabit them.
