Mandy Berbari is a Lebanese interior designer who approaches design as a means to solve everyday problems — especially those that often go unnoticed. Her work focuses on emotional well-being and the role of materials in shaping our experience of space.
She holds a BA in Interior Design from the University of the Arts London and is pursuing an MA from the Royal College of Art. During her time at the RCA, she explored carbon-efficient materials, experimental FF&E, and acoustic strategies — with a strong focus on material experimentation and conceptual design thinking.
Mandy’s approach is grounded in research and real-world relevance. She aims to create spaces that are not only functional and sustainable but also responsive to the often-unspoken needs of daily life.
What if the key to emotional well-being was as simple as letting yourself scream?
Sonic Sanctum is a wellness center concept designed to provide a powerful and unconventional outlet for emotional release and stress relief through the simple, cathartic act of screaming. In a world where emotional tension often goes unexpressed, Sonic Sanctum provides a safe, purpose-built space where individuals, couples, and groups can release frustrations, alleviate anxiety, and find a sense of calm through vocal expression. At its core is an acoustic chamber lined with coned felt wedges, which absorb sound while amplifying the emotional impact of the experience. Sonic Sanctum transforms raw expression into a form of healing.
