This platform asks participants to imagine a future context where flying urban transportation, cars, taxis, commercial vehicles, laws and legislation are standard practice.
Global cities are currently struggling with the urban pressure of pollution, overpopulation and many primary problems arising from traffic congestion and chaotic infrastructure. Major brands have started to invest in reimagining transportation and commercial delivery practice; Google, Amazon, Walmart, Uber, Tesla and Apple are amongst the Blue chip companies who are developing flying machines. It is only a matter of time before laws and legislation welcome flying machines to our cities. The future is here.
With the speed of technological City development, design and architecture are being left behind; rather than embracing this certain future we seem to be avoiding what must be considered.
The climate emergency demands that we re-establish and reinforce the need to re-use and adapt existing infrastructure and architecture; interior designers should be at the forefront of this technological revolution.
